One Little Word 2016 | January Prompts

Just a quick check-in today with my completed pages for January's One Little Word* prompts. I know we are only a few days into the new year, but I am already putting my word to good use, and can notice some small improvements in my attitude. Baby-steps :)

My plan for this album is to follow (aka copy) Ali's approach with the monthly prompts. I'm doing this for two reasons - one, I want to keep this project simple. Simple=done. And two, I find my style very similar to Ali's anyways, so why try to re-invent the wheel?

As you'll see in my pictures, the look I am going for with this album is black and white, with some gold and a few pops of colour here and there. I love the simple and classic look of black and white, and this is the perfect type of album to pull that off with.

Here's a look at January's pages:

I've kept my title page simple and used a digital brush from the One Little Word kit, along with spelling out my word in a grey alpha from the 2015 OLW kit, and added a simple gold chipboard heart from my stash.

I created my own pattern paper by repeatedly stamping the "One Little Word" stamp from the 2015 kit in black ink. I embossed one in gold glitter embossing powder to add a little contrast.

A LOT of writing on this next spread. To break it up a bit I added in a journal card with a simple gold chipboard star, and a chipboard piece from a previous Ali Edwards Story Kit. I still really wanted to add in that "Take Action" journal card though, so I decided to just pop it into the album itself, and added a homemade tab. On the back of the journal card I added some gold star patterned vellum.

I loved the prompts for this month and getting down these intentions in writing. I am so looking forward to the rest of the prompts throughout the year, and choosing to keep this word and these intentions in the forefront.

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies used: Gold and cream foil album, 2015 One Little Word Kit (no longer available).

  3. Cool, thanks! That's one of the things I love about Project Life and scrapbooking in general: it doesn't really matter that the words are in a different language. (I'm guessing you don't speak Dutch ;)

    1. So true! Just seeing the pictures and layouts is so inspiring :) I definitely don't speak Dutch, but having the Google translator helps too! ;) It's not perfect, but enough to get the point across!
