"Today Is The Day" | Scrapbook Page

Happy Friday everyone! Today I'm here to share this layout I created about our butterfly release day!! This is the first year that we purchased a 'caterpillar kit'. I got ours at Scholar's Choice, but I'm sure there are a few different places that do this. I have some pictures of the caterpillars themselves, and then once they created their chrysalises which I will eventually scrap too, but I was in the mood to use some of the butterfly papers I have been collecting for just these pictures.... Ironically, as I'm sure you've noticed, I didn't really use butterfly papers for this layout! Ha! (Some of those butterfly embellishments on the page are fussy-cut from a patterned paper).

JJ wasn't too interested in releasing the butterflies, but Austen loved it! He's our little scientist.

The supplies I used for this are a mixture of a 1canoe2 sticker book, Paige Evan's Turn The Page and Pick Me Up, and that awesome chipboard title is from Dear Lizzy Star Gazer.

We loved our little caterpillar to butterfly experiment, and can't wait to do it again next year. This year we started out with five caterpillars, and were able to release three. One didn't make it out of it's chrysalis, and one made it, but was slightly deformed. It seemed like one side of it's body didn't form properly, and it was never able to fly. Poor little guy. But it was a fun learning experience for us, and Austen is looking forward to doing it again next year - JJ is indifferent, haha.

I hope you have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by!
